Bean
Bag Toss Game
Instructions
for Operating the
Bean Bag Toss
Game
1.
Setup. The board is set up flat
on it’s back in the center of a square roped off
area. The distance from the edge of the board
to the rope should be about six feet. The
operator stands within the roped off area. The
players stand outside the roped off area*.
2.
The Game.
a)
Players may toss from any point outside
the roped off area*. *(Exception: Small
children may be permitted into the roped-off
area as appropriate to enhance their
experience. Other players should refrain from
tossing if they might hit the small child.)
b)
Players each receive six same-colored
bean bags per turn.
c)
All players are permitted to toss at the
same time.
d)
Wait until all players have thrown all
bean bags before picking them up. Pick up one
color at a time. Add up their score as you pick
up the bean bags. A green hole is worth one
point, yellow = two points, blue = three points,
and red = five points.
e)
Keep a record of who has the highest
score. (The highest possible score is 30.)
f)
Pass the bean bags out to the next
players in line after all scores are tallied.
g)
After each player completes a turn they
may play again by going to the end of the line.
3.
Stray bean bags. Occasionally a
bean bag will go well out of the roped-off
area. Encourage players and bystanders to
retrieve them for you, but KEEP YOUR EYE ON THEM
AT ALL TIMES, AS THEY WILL LIKELY TOSS THE BEAN
BAG TO (AT) YOU! They smart if they hit you in
the face.
4.
Helpers. Children will often ask
if they can help you. If the child seems
responsible, and is able to follow instructions,
it is okay to allow them to help. Be certain
that they know and follow all the rules. If
they do not, you must ask them to stop helping
and leave the roped off area.
5.
Breaks. If there is a roaming
game assistant or game manager, they should
relieve you once every 1-1/2 to 2 hours for
breaks. If not, you may put away the bean bags
and shut the game down for a short break. It is
okay to drink water or other non-alcoholic
beverages while you are assisting the game so
long as it does not interfere with keeping the
game going. It is not okay to smoke or
eat or to drink alcoholic beverages while you
are assisting the game. It is not okay to smoke
within view of any children. It is not okay to
drink alcoholic beverages within 2 hours before
or during the time you are scheduled to assist
children’s games, or to have previously consumed
alcohol or drugs to the extent that it impairs
your ability to participate fully in the
operation of the game. |
